I don't read many stories when i was a kid. So, it is a wonderful experience when my enthusiastic Dr. Jaya read us two interesting stories when we were in class. Well, even though i'm a big guy now, still it was a interesting to hear Dr. Jaya's stories.
EDWINA THE EMU
The first story Dr. Jaya told us is "Edwina the Emu". This story started when a female emu had lay 10 eggs. In order to support the family, her mate, Edward stay to take care of the eggs while she is looking for a job. She tried to become a ballet dancer but been rejected. She also tried to become a chimney sweeper and waiter but both failed. After that, she decided that it is best for her to take care of the eggs with her mate. The eggs then hatches into 10 cute little emus. When we read the story, we can clearly see that author wanted to highlight about responsibility. It is not only a woman's job to take care of the family but man also. This story teach us that both male and female in the family should work together in taking care of the family. Dr. Jaya also told us that this story also had another good value in it. It is how they teach us about sex education in a good and positive way. The story tell us about how male and female become intimate and thus how the baby was made. I recommend this story to the parents because it is a good story. This story will not only benefit the child but the parents also could learn something from it. The kids can learn about how responsibility is important in relationship and the parent could learn how to teach their child properly about sex education and not lying to them.
THE GRUFFALO
The second story was "The Gruffalo". This is the most interesting story that i heard from Dr. Jaya. There are no such animal called gruffalo in this world. so it is interesting to hear about this story.
The story is about a mouse who was talking a stroll to the forest when it has to meet with fox, owl and snake that were trying to eat him. So, in order to scare them, the mouse created a story about a ferocious beast called the gruffalo. A Gruffalo loves to eat snake, owl and fox. When the animal heard about the animal called gruffalo, they ran away and did not eat the mouse. As the mouse arrived at the forest, he was surprised to see the real gruffalo was in front of him. Afraid of the gruffalo would eat him, the mouse told the gruffalo that he is a great animal and many animal is afraid of him. The mouse told the gruffalo to follow behind him and see how the animal tremble before the great mouse. As they walking in the forest, they met with fox, owl and snake that immediately ran away when they saw the mouse. Thinking that the mouse is stronger than him, gruffalo immediately ran away. this story end with the picture of the mouse eating nuts happily.
This is a great story that should be read by the children. This story teach us how to use our brain if we were happened to get in trouble. This is show by the clever mouse that tricked the gruffalo to think that he is a stronger animal than gruffalo. Even though it is bad to lie, this story teach us the important of think intelligently in order to get rid of our problems.
I recommend this story to be read by the children. This story focuses on the smart mouse that uses his brain to scare his enemy away. Children also would love to read this book as it come with beautiful and colorful illustration.
